Botox is a facial paralytic that can temporarily weaken facial muscles beneath the wrinkled area to relax the skin and restore its youthful appearance. For years now, Botox has been used for wrinkle therapy. With the amount of Botox that is used, potential side effects are temporary and localized to the area of injection. Patients are typically able to return to their daily routine immediately after the treatment. There is an initial sting with the injection, but there is usually no discomfort after. The use of medications like Aspirin or Ibuprofen for at least 1 week before after Botox is to be avoided.
The full effects of Botox® takes about 14 days, but you will see see the results gradually kick in throughout the week.
